Early in the morning, after the breakfast we drive to the Shivapuri Hill located 9 km north of Kathmandu. Situated at an altitude of 2563m.Shivapuri hill is the second-highest hill around the valley. Before we start hiking, we visit Narayanthan temple where we will be greeted by a big statue of lord Vishnu resting at a bed of serpants.Then the hiking of 2-3 hours begins. We also pass through Shivapuri Conservation area during hiking towards Shivapuri and visit the Nagi Gumba, a Buddhist monastery for nuns, and upon reaching the top of the hill. Next, we hike downhill for about 2 hours and reach the Kopan Monastery, a Tibetan-styled monastery established in 1975. We then end our journey by driving back to Kathmandu.
